What should I expect during my first massage?
Your first visit you will be given a client intake form to complete, any concerns and areas of discomfort will be discussed. If receiveing a table massage the therapist will leave the room while you undress to your level of comfort. Only the body part being worked on will be uncovered, if at any time you are uncomfortable (to much pressure, to cold, room is to bright etc) you should let the therapist know so it can be corrected. This is your massage and you are in control.
What is the difference between deep tissue massage and a Thai massage?
The major difference is deep tissue massage is performed on a table and a Thai massage is performed on a mat.
A deep tissue massage incorporates effleurage, kneading, cross fiber friction, other techniques may be used as well to numerous to mention.
A Thai massage is performed on a mat and you are wearing loose fitting clothes. A Thai massage incorporates compression, acupressure, gentle rocking of the body, joint mobilizations, and yoga like stretching.
